Murphy looks at her, deadpan and flat. There is something about her and it's not sitting well with him. Not when this is the second time she's called him John. "Only two people call me that and you were never one of them," he says very pointedly.
His eyes are ticking around her face, tries to put her under a microscope. At the last moment, he looks away from her, takes a sip of his drink while he considers his next choice of words.
"What's the deal," Murphy asks, his tone cracked. It's as if he already knows, it's as if he didn't really want to hear her answer. But Murphy was never one to keep his mouth shut for too long.
