[He may actually hear her clear her throat, because this is awkward, but she's just going to move right along past it. She's sort of made it her mission to check on him, knowing he feels so separated from the group. And now that things are getting back to normal, she wants to check in. Plus she's on her way back from work in case she needs to actually pop in.]

Hey. Just checking in-- making sure you're alive after all that. [And that he's sober now.]

[ It's hard not to hear the clearing of a throat. He doesn't point it out, not yet at least. ]

I'm alive. [ He sounds alive but not really okay. Murphy sounds depressed, an after effect of Ecstacy. That and his chest is swelling with anxiety. ] What's up?

[belligerents]

[She can hear something in his voice and stops where she was, looking back down the other way she came. He's not that far from here.]

Nothing. I just got off work though. It's still pretty flooded in the Down. [So this way if he wants company he doesn't have to come out and say it.]

You okay? I know things had gotten intense. [He was really high.]

[ It's a lot to take in; the week's worth of events. Raven is right. Things got really intense with them. Hell, with a lot of people and a lot of things.

Murphy tries not to sound so goddamned depressed. People with chronic depression probably should not take Ecstasy. It's great at the beginning but the crash isn't worth it in the end. Murphy has been wallowing in it, laying in his bed and not wanting to do a damn thing. ]

Yeah, I'm fine. [ No, not really. It doesn't take a genius to pick up on it. ] You need to go out and replace all the things that got ruined?

[belligerents]

Murphy, I live in a shithole. I'd say it's on par with the drop ship only at least I had parts to do something with. There's nothing to replace, because I didn't have anything to get ruined. [She knows he never actually made it into her room, but there's not a whole lot in general. It pretty much sucks.]

I just didn't want to go back down. If you want the company.

[ There's rustling noises, a soft grunt as he wills himself out of his bed. ]

Yeah, you can come here. My place is kind of a mess.

[belligerents]

You have your own bathroom. I'll live. [She pauses before heading back.]

Need me stop for dinner on the way? I'm guessing you haven't gotten up to eat, yet.

[mofi]

Yeah, I more meant my bedroom.

[ ... ]

No. I'm not hungry.

[belligerents]

[She's not sure if he's just saying that or if he's really not okay right now.]

Do you want me to just come straight over? [She's hungry, but there's genuine concern in her voice for him.]

[mofi]

[ Murphy will be fine, he reasons with himself. ]

You go eat food if you're hungry. I'll make my bedroom a little more presentable.

[ There's a sigh somewhere. ]

[There's a pause where she debates if she should just come over, but decides to go with his idea since she's still going to grab him something quick. She has a feeling she's going to have a hard time getting anything without a Dominant.]

There's a burger joint down the road. See you in twenty?

Burgers sound good. Burgers are safe. Are you going to be okay getting food? [ There's worry in his voice. ] I don't know how subs getting food up here works.
